Slurry Seal
UV rays, traffic, water, and general wear and tear cause asphalt to naturally break down. Parking lots, city streets, and driveways are vulnerable to breakdowns that lead to potholes and other problems. We use a slurry seal as a treatment method for asphalt maintenance. Slurry seals are designed to prevent additional damage to the asphalt while giving the asphalt a fresh look.
What Is Slurry Seal Made Of?
Slurry seal is a mixture of aggregate, asphalt, emulsion, water, and mineral fillers used to extend the life of your asphalt. Depending upon the type of slurry seal needed, we provide multiple mix options. When a slurry seal is applied, it allows for a new wear surface and prevents water from penetrating it. Slurry is beneficial for filling in cracks that can appear in asphalt.
Where Can Slurry Seal Be Used?
Slurry seal can be used on several roads. Slurry seal is primarily used on asphalt, normally when the asphalt is around 6-10 years of age. A slurry seal applied at this time will create a smooth surface and a new wearing surface. Slurry seals are commonly used on residential streets. Roadways normally have slurry seal treatments every 5-7 years to limit cracks and other issues.
